WHAT OUR VISITORS SAY

Quite often visitors say lovely things on our Questionnaires, or they send a letter, or we find a note.  Here is a selection.

Dear Captain and Mrs Busk,

I just want to thank you for a brilliant day I had spent at the Gardens with my kids on Wednesday 29/10.It was a wonderful day;the weather was just right and we were the only ones around in the garden.
I had promised my 4yr old and my friend's children (5,6yrs) that we will be going to collect apples. What I had seen was definelty nothing next to what I had on my mind.

I had called on the day as the oldest of the boys wasnt feeling well the day before but he wont have missed this day for the world...i had to ask him several times before leaving home if he is ok about travelling the long distance.I didnt want to travel all this distnace and thought of somehitng close to home..but luckily he seemed to have been better even later on the day.
Half term is not for children to sit at home , infront of the TV or Wii or playstations and act like zombies after that!!

The Gardens are a piece of heaven-peaceful and so amazingly 'silent' ...if the kids shouted i had to tell them to keep quiet. I just wanted to hear the sound of 'silence'....I have lived in UAE for all my life and when I came to Southampton it sounded so peaceful compared to a very busy and noisy life there. I love the tranquility and appreciate such settings-even the air was different.

I hadnt expected to see a variety of apples, we just collected so many kinds and not noting their names. Perhaps next year i will be more prepared!!!
The kids loved the fact that they are able to collect apples right from the trees.
Infact they had so much fun along the way-they had seen farms with herds of sheep, cows and cows out on a walk on the road with the owners who were showing them the way!!! One of the gardeners who we saw when we finished  in the gardens told us we had to go and see the dragon...and so we made our way to the dragon...didnt make it the first time but had to ask again and managed to find the breathing dragon.
They were very reluctant to leave when we got in the car.

I personally loved the whole thing...i guess i was more excited than the kids! I even thought the toilet room a very interesting with all those books and furniture...I am sure everything tells a story... I dont know how to thank you for the beautiful day I had with the kids at the GArdens...

Many thanks,
Zainab Ibrahim
Southampton

ps: I have made apple jam, my famous apple tart, apple cake and the whole family loved the taste of every apple they muched into...although most of them are dessert apples but it just apple-ealed to them!!
